We are pleased to welcome our first Geeks in Residence, Jason Kunesh, Dan Ratner and Paul Smith, the founders of Public Good Software. These engaged entrepreneurs will be working in the Harold Washington Library and offering “office hours” each week to talk to and advise other tech entrepreneurs and business owners. Drawing on their vast experience in the tech industry, Jason, Dan and Paul are uniquely positioned to assist small-business owners in Chicago.
The Geeks in Residence pilot is a perfect complement to the business resources already available from the Business Science Technology Division on the 4th floor of HWLC. Library staff here help patrons find information on all business topics including business plans, specific industries and basic startup information. The Business Science Technology Division also connects people with organizations dedicated to assisting small business owners and entrepreneurs such as SCORE, Small Business Administration, ACCION Chicago and the Women’s Business Development Center. Now with the Geeks in Residence, we can connect small-business owners and entrepreneurs to experts working in the field and help strengthen business-to-business networks to support Chicago’s growing tech sector.
By offering weekly office hours and special entrepreneurial talks, the Geeks in Residence will add to the public good in Chicago, helping local entrepreneurs make their businesses stronger and better.
Welcome Jason, Dan and Paul!
Come and meet the Geeks tonight in the Innovation Lab at the Harold Washington Library Center @ 6pm!
